1. Trichotomy Composition
The trichotomy composition is actually a simplified version of the Golden Section method. The Golden Section method is to arrange the subject at four points of the Golden Section, but if we divide the picture into three parts, we will find that the golden point is actually on the two lines of the picture. Here, we refer to these two lines as the three-point line, and the way the composition is arranged on the two three-point lines is the three-point composition.
Because it is two three-point lines, the composition can also be divided into the upper three points and the lower three points. The specific application depends on the shooting scene and the content that you want to focus on. For example, when shooting a picture of the sea and the sky, if the scenery of the sky is fascinating, you can place the horizon in the lower part of the three-point lines, allowing the sky to occupy a part of the picture. In the same way, if the scenery of the sea is more charming, you can take a picture in the upper three points. This kind of picture can achieve a harmonious effect, and the wonderful part of the picture can also be displayed more perfect.
Swarms of wild ducks and swans swim leisurely on the lake. In order to show the scenery on the lake and let the lake occupy more area, you can arrange the horizon in the upper three-point lines.
Arrange the horizon at the lower three-point line, let the grasslands, mountains, and sky each occupy one-third of the area of the picture, making the picture look vivid and natural.
In order to express the luxuriant scene of wheat in the harvest season, you can arrange the horizon in the upper three points, so that wheat takes up more pictures.
2. Symmetrical composition
The concept of symmetry has influenced people’s lives since ancient times and has played an important role in people’s daily life. People in the construction, clothing, furniture, tableware and other industries are designed in accordance with the concept of symmetry, that symmetrical things are beautiful and correct. Therefore, we can use the symmetrical relationship between things to shoot when composing images.
In photographic composition, we can divide the symmetry relationship into left and right symmetry and upper and lower symmetry. The bilaterally symmetrical relationship is usually encountered in ancient buildings, because the ancients follow the point of view of the heaven and earth, and the architecture pays attention to the symmetry. Up and down symmetry usually refers to the symmetry effect of using water reflection or glass reflection, which is usually encountered when shooting natural landscapes or urban landscapes. Symmetrical composition often brings a stable, formal, and balanced feeling to the picture.
Filming the famous Hungarian Parliament Building, using the reflections of the building on the water surface to arrange the upper and lower symmetrical composition, giving a stable, solemn and majestic picture.
Two open windows, the same color of flowers on the window sill, the window and the flowers form a symmetrical relationship, the composition of the picture is very clever.
Symmetrical aesthetics affect people’s lives. Tables and chairs, wall paintings and chandeliers in restaurants also form a symmetrical relationship, giving people a harmonious and quiet picture.
The colorful building and the reflection of the water surface form a symmetrical relationship between the top and bottom, using this symmetrical relationship composition shot, the screen is very beautiful.
